Physician Specialists 

Dr. Judy Campanaro is a graduate of Queens University Medical School, and a specialist in Obstetrics and Gynecology, with a Fellowship from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. She began KARMA’s fertility program in 1993, and today enjoys a reputation for having one of Canada’s most successful programs. 

Dr. Wendy McCuaig obtained her medical degree and her specialist training at the University of Western Ontario, and is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. She practices general obstetrics and gynecology at KARMA, as well as the Grand River Hospital, and frequently takes over the care of patients who are Dr. Campanaro’s successes. 

Dr. Roger Stronell graduated from McGill University Medical School, then became a specialist in diagnostic imaging at the University of Toronto, with a Fellowship in Diagnostic Radiology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He devotes his practice entirely to obstetrical and gynecological ultrasound, and is a KARMA consultant in women’s imaging. 

Nursing Staff 

Judy Renwick, RN has been the nursing co-ordinator of KARMA’s fertility program since its inception. She graduated from the Conestoga School of Nursing, has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Waterloo University, and holds a specialist certificate in infertility nursing from the American National Certification Corporation. She implements Dr. Campanaro’s protocols on a day-to-day basis, and is the patient’s contact during monitoring of natural, IUI and IVF cycles. She frequently teaches education days at local high schools and community organizations, and has always been a significant contributor to KARMA’s enviable reputation in the Kitchener area. 

Heather Palmer, RN is a graduate of Fanshawe College of Nursing, and has a broad experience in obstetrical and gynecological nursing, both in Hospital and Clinic settings. She has served as a member and twice Chairperson of the Parents’ Council of her children’s school, has also been Director on the Board for the Kitchener Waterloo Skating Club, and often volunteers at local skating events. She assists Dr. Campanaro in the monitoring and management of natural, IUI and IVF cycles at KARMA. 

Kelly Cronin, RN, BScN graduated from the University of Windsor School of Nursing, and worked in the Family Practice Unit of the Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto, the Community Health for the Halton Region, and most recently at the Grand River Hospital in Kitchener. She lives in Kitchener with her husband and three children, and assists Dr.Campanaro part-time with her fertility practice. 

Counsellor

Ann Louise Woodward, RN, CPMHN(C) received her nursing education at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto, and practiced for many years in the hospital environment, in both in-patient and out-patient settings. She has a specialist certificate in psychiatric mental health nursing, and is an experienced counselor in many areas of mental health, including eating disorders, individual, group and family therapy. She is particularly skilled in the areas of lifestyle as a contributor to stress, and her experience with clinical setting biofeedback and stress management led her to pursue and achieve certification with Essi Systems of California regarding “Stress map”. She has worked in fertility counseling for the past twelve years. 

Laboratory Staff 

Scot Hamilton, Ph D, obtained his doctorate from the University of Western Ontario, and is KARMA’s laboratory director. Scot is the chief embryologist at the ISIS Regional Fertility Centre. 

Tracy Moore, MLT is a graduate of Cabot Institute of Applied Arts and Technology. She operates KARMA’s laboratory, testing blood and semen for determining fertility potential and treatment cycles. She performs all necessary quality assurance procedures. She also coordinates the donor sperm program for KARMA’s patients. 

Ultrasound Staff 

Sandra Fischer is a graduate of Mohawk College, an ARDMS certified sonographer, and has been the regional manager at KARMA Ultrasound since its inception. She serves as a clinical instructor at Mohawk McMaster Institute of Applied Health Sciences, and coordinates the on-site training of ultrasound students in their clinical placement. 

Karen Hayden graduated from Mohawk College and is also certified in diagnostic ultrasound by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). She is KARMA Ultrasound’s clinic supervisor, and co-ordinates the day-to-day activities of the rest of our ultrasonographers and clerical staff.
