Hormone Laboratory
Under the supervision of Dr. Judy Campanaro, Scot Hamilton, PhD. directs KARMA’s on-site hormone assay laboratory, which tests hormones involved in reproduction, with same day results. The lab carries out male factor infertility investigations, including semen analysis, swim up (to assess motility under stress), anti-sperm antibody testing and sperm viability. It also processes semen samples for intrauterine insemination
(IUI), and sperm freezing. Significant “male factor” problems may be referred to a urologist for further investigation and treatment.
Ultrasound
KARMA’s ultrasound facility is licensed by the Ministry of Health to provide diagnostic imaging services to its associated physicians. It has been designated as a clinical placement site for Mohawk College’s sonographers’ training program, and has received perfect scores on each and every assessment by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. KARMA is also committed to its own continuing education, so that its staff remains up to date on all recent advances in the field. Highly trained and qualified personnel, using state of the art equipment enable us to see more pathology at an earlier stage than many other facilities. We are always working hard to preserve and enhance the already excellent reputation we enjoy in the Kitchener area.
