At KARMA, every effort has been made to incorporate computer technology into the day-to-day activities at the clinic. Appointment scheduling and billing, laboratory and ultrasound information, progress notes and document management are all functions, which we have integrated into a modern computer database. Doctors and nurses use the tablet PC instead of a paper file, to access patient information, record progress and nursing notes, review documents pertinent to the patient record.
KARMA is one of only a handful of clinics in the Province, where care givers can access the patient record locally, by means of an Ethernet and wireless local network, and remotely, via a virtual private server/client network
(VPN). Data is kept safe by means of network and redundant servers, running software provided by leaders in the industry. Antiviral software and regular regular audits of data integrity add to the security of the patient information.
KARMA’s use of digital technology results in more rapid access to patient data, and more efficient management, all of which means earlier diagnosis and treatment for our patients. |
